I will share with you his struggle with societal labels and what a man “should be”.
Also to my brother Nathan Salley who took his life.
He felt different and was not able to express himself.

We knew it was just for a season to help each get to our next adventure however we white-knuckled and hung on for dear life.
Our love did not make sense but we had a blast figuring it out.
I loved that you agreed for me to interview you next month to talk about relationships, forgiveness, and freedom in friendship after a break-up.
My heart was so happy to hear about your wonderful visit with your son Edward and your super fun evening with your sister Alison.
I absolutely enjoyed watching you let your hair down winging it, and letting out your inner BADASS.
I loved how you lived unapologetically.
You built your own drum and only a few could hear the beautiful music.
You will be greatly missed!
I last spoke to you on May 10 you were looking forward to running Raven hard, giving her a new suspension, and riding with Jay on the Fourth of July.
I felt your love, joy, friendship, and happiness.

I Kept My Promise
Dear Nathan,
As I stared at your ashes wondering if I had the strength to take some home with me I made a promise to myself and you that day.
I will not stay in my darkness too long and I would learn how to get rid of my demons.
I too shared the generational curses you had.
I felt what you were going through, in addition to what life was throwing at us.
I learned to be very comfortable in my pain, destruction, and darkness.
I didn’t understand why I felt things I couldn’t explain and when I tried people labeled me “crazy”.
I also struggled to make sense out of things I felt that people wouldn’t acknowledge.
It is a blessing and a curse to feel what people are not saying.
Your passing changed my life and made me take a hard look at myself and own my bullshit!
I wanted to help you.
I regret not listening to my intuition!!
I let myself stay on the bench.
I want you to know I am in the game and I am a part of an amazing team that is changing lives every day!
I still feel your presence and thank you for my little reminders on the days I question myself.
When you were told I found you guys after 41 years of looking you called me.
It felt like I had known you my whole life.
I was at a point in my journey where I needed guidance on next steps. I had been taking training classes and working with coaches for five years and although I had evolved, I was stuck.
